Part of series for a gallery exhibition called In Between. In each work, an imperfect tree is the centerpiece of an unfolding parable or improbable event. A large old oak tree in my yard that was diagnosed with disease in Fall 2014 inspired the split tree motif. Ultimately, the tree’s death and eventual removal happened just a couple weeks before the opening of the exhibition.
