This piece illustrates the word “metamorphosis,” interpreted as energy returning to the cosmos upon death. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be transferred or changed from one form to another. It alludes to both the mysterious nature of death, and the fact that all living beings are made of atoms that were forged in the bellies of stars.
