The Connoisseur redux

The client wanted to recreate Norman Rockwell’s famous, “The Connoisseur” illustration with a twist. They wanted the painting that the man was viewing to contain a large X, while still capturing the spirit of the modern painting. I recreated all the elements from scratch – shooting new reference of a man in a very similar pose with all the props, but of course illustrating him in a style similar to Rockwell to create the effect. And of course I created a new “modern” painting with the needed X.
