The concept for this illustration was to create a vector self-portrait depicting my anxieties and emotions during these turbulent times. For this purpose, I choose to use my silhouette to represent me but to show that we are all experiencing these feelings. I used the metaphor of being trapped in a burning house. However, this actually extends towards being trapped on a planet that is in turmoil. As I see it, The world around me is burning and this is the only world I know. Beyond this, a clear representation of the situation is the action of wearing a mask. For this purpose, I played with the negative space, depicting myself seeking protection behind a mask.
