This self-assigned, fine art illustration originated as an act of resistance. Resistance against patriarchal capitalism’s trend of isolating women and femmes from one another. This divide, coupled with a communal belief in lack of resources, forces a false sense of competition unto us. The most honest and comforting way I could challenge this notion was to illustrate two femmes softly resting upon one another among the forest’s lively floor. Among this abundance of natural life, these two tethered figures are one another’s safety and nourishment. In love and togetherness we will weather these societal woes. When we lean into our vulnerability and admit to our need for one another we can never be truly broken by that which seeks to diminish and exploit us.
