Drew Struzan started drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil. Apparently, he never put it down. He graduated from Art Center College of Design with Great Distinction in 1972 and went on to create album covers for many bands popular in the ’70s from Alice Cooper’s WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE to Black Sabbath’s SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH. By the ‘80s he was painting for the movies and working with Hollywood’s top directors. His posters include those for STAR WARS, INIDANA JONES, BACK TO THE FUTURE, GOONIES, E.T., and continued on through the decades with work for HELLBOY, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, and many other notable posters. In 2020, Drew was chosen as an inductee to the New York Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame. Retired and creating art for himself, Drew looks back on a rather remarkable career with great satisfaction.
