The assignment was to create a scene using elements from nature, but to blend them into fantastical forms. Years ago I saw a sparrow-chipmunk griffin in a Dungeons and Dragons home-brew book, and it struck me that griffins didn’t have to be the classic lion-eagle hybrid. So this was my take on other species of urban griffins.
